The wedding ceremony might be the star of the show, but the wedding reception is where you and your guests will spend the most time on your wedding day. Whether you’re enjoying dinner, mingling with guests, or dancing the night away, you want a space that perfectly fits the theme and aesthetic of your big day.
One of the best things about getting married at The Treasury on the Plaza is that the stunning architecture of the venue provides the perfect canvas for any style of wedding reception décor. The dramatic height of the ceilings, the grandness of the columns, the beautiful marble floor, and the overall classic elegance of the venue can be “dressed to the nines,” or left to shine with minimal decorations.
While it’s important to consider the entire space when decorating your reception, don’t forget to pay extra close attention to where the couple will be sitting—whether that be at a head table or a sweetheart table. These are often a main focal point during the reception.
From classic florals to boho installations, let’s check out how five real couples decorated their wedding tables at our St. Augustine wedding venue to help spark some ideas of your own!
1. Clean and Classic Wedding Table Design
Our historic ballroom was the perfect space to host Victoria and Tom’s timeless wedding reception. The Treasury’s cream color palette with ornate details added the perfect amount of texture to their classic reception design.
Wedding planner Coastal Celebrations and florist EP Florals created a lush, romantic look for Victoria and Tom’s table décor. The flowers were mostly white with a few light pink and peach tones, mixed in with greenery accents. This timeless and elegant look was combined with gold touches in the chargers, table numbers, and custom coasters given to guests as wedding favors. The couple also utilized their complimentary Treasury on the Plaza history cards at each place setting.
With a guest count of approximately 80 guests, Victoria and Tom had the option to place their sweetheart table in the center, left-hand side of the historic ballroom. This gave them a wide-open dance floor and clear views of The Treasury’s famous Vault Bar!
The sweetheart table was surrounded with candles in different sizes and heights that shimmered against a gold sparkle table linen. EP Florals added flower petals and a simple white centerpiece to complete this romantic look.
2. Colorful Boho Chic Wedding Table Design
The beauty of hosting your reception in our Grand Ballroom is that you can easily transform the space into any design theme with the right lighting and florals. Don’t believe us? Just take a look at Alejandra and Rishi’s boho-chic reception.
Warm, amber lighting highlighted the stunning architecture of this historic ballroom. Florist The Anti Bride created centerpieces full of bright orange, yellow, and pink blossoms accented by fun white feathers. These centerpieces, combined with the low and subdued lighting, and gold satin tablecloths created a look that was both bohemian and luxurious.
3. Glam Wedding Reception with Opulent Head Table
Our Grand Ballroom was made for a reception like Jimeshia and Michael’s! The glamorous décor made a statement without taking away from Treasury’s architectural design. Their emerald green, white, and gold color palette was kept simple to offset a stunning head table layered with opulent floral arrangements, glamorous green and gold chairs, green velvet napkins, and LOTS of candles.
The couple also made sure to stay extra close to each other by including a gold-trimmed Victorian-era chairs fit for royalty. For you’re looking for the perfect glam moment for your wedding table, this is it!
4. Dramatic and Romantic Wedding Tables
At The Treasury on the Plaza, romance is what we do best and this reception was no exception! Heidi and Phillip chose a dark and moody color scheme that included deep purple, blue, black, and fuchsia. Florist Feather & Bloom included organic and natural elements that added whimsy and drama to the reception tables. Low lighting in purple and blue tones mixed with candlelight helped set the tone and add ambiance.
The décor also included a sweetheart wedding table draped in greenery and accented by candles in glass cylinders. But what we loved most was the touches of pink deep purple in the florals. This small pop of color adds another layer of depth that we absolutely love.
5. Fairytale Wedding with Tables Accented by Pastels
Ginny and David’s reception stole our hearts with its dreamy color palette. Their gorgeous wedding tables brought together all of our favorite things: color, texture, depth, lighting, you name it!
The pastel blue touches on the sweetheart table couch, napkins, and florals blend perfectly with the blush uplighting and gold décor accents. This wedding was hosted in February, but this look is also perfect for a spring or summer reception. With the help of your dream vendor team, you can recreate this fairytale look for your wedding!
