You hired an amazing photographer and videographer to capture your wedding day. The “I do’s” have come and gone. Now you want to share all of those amazing moments with the world–and the world deserves to see them! At The Treasury on the Plaza, we’re here to help!
Have you ever wondered how to get your wedding featured on The Treasury’s social media pages and blog? It’s actually really simple! We love sharing our couples’ stories with future brides and grooms. Here are the steps to get your wedding featured by The Treasury on the Plaza:
1. Communicate With Your Photographer or Videographer About Your Image and Video Timeline
The time needed to edit photos and videos after your wedding varies from company to company. It’s a good idea to get an understanding of when you should expect to see the final product from your photographer and videographer. Once the wedding has passed, it’s normal to get a little bit anxious about seeing those beautiful images. To make the wait a little easier, sometimes these vendors will offer to share previews or a highlight reel before your full album or video is ready. (We love getting to see and share these teaser images and videos!)
2. Request That Your Photographer and Videographer Share Their Work With Us
Most photographers and videographers love sharing their work with other vendors. However, everyone gets busy; after the wedding, you may need to send them a gentle reminder to share their work with the rest of the vendor team who helped bring your wedding day to life.
It is typically easier for your photographer or videographer to share photos and videos directly with your vendors, rather than sending them to you for distribution. Images and videos are often large files that are difficult to share through most email programs. Photographers, in particular, typically have easily sharable links that allow vendors to choose their favorite photos and download them directly. (Sidenote: Make sure to tell your photographer if there are any images that you do not want to be shared with your vendors!)
Photographers and videographers can email info@thetreasurycollection.com or Director of Marketing, Marissa MacLeod, at marissa@thetreasurycollection.com.
3. Reach out to The Treasury on the Plaza Directly
With over to 150 weddings a year here at The Treasury, we receive a lot of photos and videos. We try to share as many weddings as we possibly can on our blog and social media, but the best way for us to put your wedding at the top of the list is for you to reach out to us directly and simply ask! You can email our Director of Marketing, Marissa MacLeod at marissa@thetreasurycollection.com, and let her know that you are interested in being featured.
Some of our past couples have asked if it is too late to be featured if their wedding date was several years ago. Absolutely not! We love doing anniversary posts and #FlashbackFriday posts. A few of our former brides, grooms, and their families have even reached out to us with a special message that they would like to include in the post. We love any fun and unique ways that we can help celebrate your love!
4. Tell Your Story
Every one of our couples has a unique story to tell. When sharing your photos and videos on our blog and social media channels, we want to make each post as personal as possible. Here are a few topics that we like to cover:
– How did you and your partner meet?
– How did they/you propose?
– What was your vision for your big day? Where did you find inspiration?
– What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
– Do you have any advice for future brides and grooms?
You can include these questions and answers in an email, or we can set up a time to chat over the phone. The more unique details and insight you can provide, the better!
5. Share Your Info
Once we have your post ready to go, we want to make sure that we include all of the correct information for you and your vendors. Do you want us to tag you in the post on Instagram and Facebook? If so, we will need to confirm your Instagram handle and ask for a link to your Facebook profile. Do you have a wedding hashtag? Make sure to include that too!
With our blog and social media posts we always include credit for the vendor team that helped bring your day to life. It’s helpful to provide an updated vendor list that includes your wedding planner, caterer, florist, bakery, photographer, videographer, entertainment/DJ, rental company, hair and makeup artists, bridal/menswear companies, and any other important vendors.
