This past November, we had the pleasure of celebrating Kara and Kyle’s wedding ceremony and reception at The Treasury on the Plaza. These two have the sweetest local love story!
A St. Augustine Lighthouse Engagement:
Kara, who is from St. Augustine, and Kyle, who is from Ponte Vedra Beach, surprisingly didn’t meet until 2010 while they were both attending the University of Central Florida in Orlando. After dating for 6 years, it was time to make it official! Kyle planned the perfect St. Augustine proposal in December of 2016. His sister and sister-in-law took Kara to lunch at Gypsy Cab Company. After lunch, they climbed to the top of the St. Augustine Lighthouse, where Kyle was waiting to get down on one knee. Lucky for us, he made sure a photographer was there to capture the moment that Kara said “yes!”

When it came time to decide where to host their wedding, it was a no-brainer for Kara and Kyle to select St. Augustine…and we’re so glad that they did! Their wedding day at The Treasury on the Plaza was an absolute dream!
The Bride’s Wedding Inspiration:
We asked Kara how she came up with the vision for her big day, and she shared that she took inspiration from her navy and blush brushstroke invitations. “I really liked the seasonal take on the colors, since we were getting married in the fall. I wanted natural elegance, a formal affair but not too stuffy, and something that would complement the grandeur of The Treasury, but not too much for our relaxed personalities.”
Kara and Kyle shared a private first look before their wedding ceremony on The Treasury on the Plaza Foyer Balcony.
One of our absolute favorite moments of Kara and Kyle’s wedding ceremony was when their Glitter Grams walked down the aisle. It was such an unexpected twist from traditional flower girls! Florrie and Esther totally owned the moment with their stylish outfits (Esther wore sparkly pink Keds!) and sweet smiles.
After the ceremony, Kara and Kyle headed out to the Plaza de la Constitución with their bridal party for photos.
The whole family was in on the fun – they even brought along their sweet pup, Baya!
Kara and Kyle’s wedding reception was full of beautiful details and sweet sentimental moments. We loved the sparkly gold table linens and banners!
This sweet doughnut station reminded guests to “treat yo self” to some sweet treats.
The Bride’s Favorite Memory From Her Wedding Day:
Kara’s favorite memory from her wedding day was the private last dance that she and Kyle shared before their grand exit. “I still can’t get over the fact that we had all of our friends and family in one room, together, to celebrate us. It was just a surreal experience for everyone to be there for us! Our last dance was an ugly cry moment for both of us; so raw. It was bittersweet for our perfect day to be ending, but also the first time that it was just the two of us that day. We were really able to soak in the time marking our beginning as one.”
Advice to Future Couples From the Bride:
Kara was sweet enough to share some parting advice with future brides and grooms. “Let the bride have her way! Just kidding! But I was seriously blessed with Kyle letting me take the reigns and plan everything. He didn’t fight me on any of the decisions and trusted I would make the right call for us. My actual advice is to do what you want when you’re planning your day. Our day was so stress-free because it was everything we wanted. Our venue and team was perfect, organized and delivered on every aspect. We were able to celebrate what mattered most to us, when we were ready. Kyle and I waited a while to get married, and thankfully because of this we were able to have everything we wanted.”
