In many places throughout the country, winter is not the ideal time to get married. However, here in St. Augustine, Florida, our mild climate and festive atmosphere make January the perfect month to say “I do!”
Jess and Matt Kramer chose January 6 for their special day at The Treasury on the Plaza. We were so honored to help this special couple bring their dream wedding to life.
Jess and Matt work as first responders in Jacksonville—Jess as a police officer, and Matt as a firefighter. After their careers brought them together, it didn’t take them long to realize they wanted to keep battling all of life’s challenges as a team.
To honor their jobs, the Kramers went with a subtle theme of “Red, White, and I Do,” with navy blue as the main color. We love this subtle, beautiful way they showed off their patriotism!
Jess and Matt chose to do a “first touch” in the Grand Lobby at The Treasury on the Plaza. The gilded elevators provided a beautiful backdrop for photos. The couple shared a pre-ceremony drink to shake off those pre-wedding jitters!
The Treasury on the Plaza was the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous details Jess and Matt selected. We absolutely love how the grand 1920’s architecture highlighted their ceremony décor!
Every couple dreams of spending their wedding day surrounded by those they love most, and this wedding made that wish come true.
As their friends and family looked on in support, Jess walked down the aisle in a long-sleeved wedding dress that complemented the winter season perfectly. The two said their vows and finally became husband and wife.
Cocktail hour was held in the Exchange Gallery of The Treasury on the Plaza. For their signature drinks, Matt and Jess opted for two classic favorites that they proudly named after their beloved dogs!
“The Harper”—a Bourbon Old-Fashioned with dark cherry juice—paid homage to the couples’ black Lab, while a watermelon margarita was named “The Sarge,” after their Pit Bull rescue.
The couple also incorporated their sweet pups into their wedding gifts. Jess gave Matt a handkerchief with a special message from Harper and Sarge.
While their guests enjoyed a few cocktails, the Treasury team transformed the room into a grand and glamorous reception area, complete with navy linens and Chiavari chairs and towering floral arrangements. The stunning Vault Bar created the perfect focal point for an evening of fun!
With their fellow police officers and firefighters in attendance, Matt and Jess danced well into the night. Billy Parry with BPM Weddings kept the tunes spinning and the energy high. The dance floor stayed full all night long!
For dessert, Matt and Jess opted for a classic white wedding cake, but they put their own unique twist on it.
A custom cake topper featured the words “Mr. and Mrs. Kramer” with silhouettes of the two of them in their uniforms. When it was time to cut and serve it, they used a monogrammed hatchet as a nod to Matt’s career.
For anyone not in the mood for cake, doughnuts from The Donut Experience were the perfect way to satisfy that sweet tooth!
Matt and Jess, we were so honored to host your wedding and loved celebrating every minute with you! We wish you all the best in the future.
